For whatever reason, I’ve never been a big dress-and-heels girl, which has made getting dressed for most formal occasions quite a challenge. Weddings in particular pose a problem because they’re rooted in tradition, and many brides are sensitive about what their guests choose to wear.

 When you stray from the norm of wearing a dress with heels, you run the risk of being too casual and/or drawing too much attention to yourself on the bride’s big day, so you have to be smart about your choices.
