Melanie and her husband heard a strange noise coming form outside. At first they thought it was a burglar, but were surprised to find a blind fawn that was on the brink of death. Melanie, who happened to be a veterinarian, immediately took in the fawn.
During the fawns healing process, Melanie and her family became closer to the baby deer naming it “Dillie.” She even has her very own room in the house!
Melanie has stage 4 cancer and says that Dillie taught her that “every life is a gift.
