10+ Transparent Animals You Won’t Believe Exist!

1. THE GLASS-WINGED BUTTERFLY.
The butterflies are mostly found in south and central America, as far south as Chile. They can travel great distances and have been documented as far as Texas and Mexico.

2. JUVENILE SHARPEAR ENOPE SQUID.
The polka-dots found on the squids skin are pigment-filled cells and their eyes glow constantly. They are usually found in tropical and sub-tropical oceans.

3. TRANSPARENT JUVENILE SURGEONFISH.
These fish are found in a large range of waters including the coast of New Zealand. It’s the same species of fish as Dory from Finding Nemo.


4. TRANSLUCENT PHAROH ANTS EATING COLORED LIQUIDS.
They’re notorious for being nuisance pests in people’s homes and in hospitals. The ants live in Europe, The Americas, South East Asia and Australasia.


5. MACRPINNA MICROSTOMA.
This fish is recognized for the fluid-filled dome on it’s head, through which you can see the lenses of it’s eyes.

6. TORTOISE SHELL BEETLE.
The purpose of the beetle’s almost transparent shell is the fool predators. The design under it’s shell is very bright and beautiful.
7. EUROPEAN EEL.
These eels come in different colors, they start off transparent then change to a browny-yellow color on their sides and belly. After 5-20 years in water, they become sexually mature, their eyes grow larger, their flanks turn silver and their belly turns white and they become “Silver Eels”

They’re just 2cm wide!

This Jellyfish is usually found near Japan and deep in the Mediterranean Sea. Once it’s reached an old age, it just starts it’s life all over again.
